We offer a broad spectrum of medical care. We are one of only a few group practices located in Vienna.

Your benefits: We are open on every working day and are available for a longer period of time. As both general practitioners are alternately present, our medical center is never closed due to vacation, which means there is no need for a locum doctor. We expanded our medical service spectrum (see services) and offer home visits.

Our Opening Hours

Tuesday 2pm - 8pm
Wednesday 7am - 1pm
Thursday 12am - 6pm

Medical check-ups for adults

Medical check-up once a year!
A medical check-up allows to discover health risks and diseases early. A medical check-up is a free health service provided by the Austrian health insurance agencies. Medical check-ups are especially relevant when suffering from cardiovascular diseases, overweight, elevated blood lipids, intestinal diseases, when smoking and as cancer prevention.

Once a year the Austrian health insurance agencies bear the costs of a medical check-up for all patients from the age of 18 up. The service provided is focused on information transmission and consultation. In our group practice Medizin am Küniglberg we offer the following services:

  • Clinical examination
  • Urine test
  • Blood test
  • BMI determination
  • Pulmonary function test (on request)
  • ECG
  • Internistic examination
  • Blood pressure measurement
  • Discussion of medical examination results

If necessary, we refer you to follow-up examinations, depending on age and risk profile:

  • Colonoscopy (from age 50 onward or by reason of family medical histories)
  • Gynecological examination
  • Urological examination
  • Ophthalmological examination

The medical check-up starts with a blood sampling. You receive two questionnaires, such as a stool test from age 50 onward. Subsequently, the physical examination and the medical result discussion take place.

We kindly ask you to make an appointment by phone.

Please bring your e-card with you.

Pain management, e.g. infusion and infiltration

Pain has an enormous effect on the quality of life. Pain may occur acute or present in a chronic course. We make a diagnosis, clarify and treat sustainably.

Concrete examples for acute pain are: acute inflammation of the middle ear (otitis), acute muscle tension, disc herniation or pain caused by falls. In all these cases, physical treatments, analgesics, infusions and infiltrations come into play.

Chronic pain can be severe and long lasting. Possible causes might me degenerative joint diseases or osteoporosis, but also neuropathic pain. Inherently, treatment takes longer and requires an intensive care for several months. We carry out a detailed anamnesis and include, aside from a thorough pain analysis, also the family environment.

After detailed examination and interview, and as soon as all the test results are available, we develop a multimodal therapy concept. This concept may consist of physical and/or medical treatments, behavior therapy, or infusion-/injection therapy.

We pay attention to different factors to develop a sustainable and individual treatment, that fits to the individual needs of our patients.

Hyaluronic Acid Injections

Hyaluronic acid allows to treat sore and aching joints. Hyaluronic acid serves as lubricant and reduces friction and pain.

Hyaluronic acid treatments include five injections. They are injected into the diseased joint. Significant pain reduction or even pain-free results are the consequence. The effect may last for up to 6 months.

Soft Laser-Treatment

„Laser light“ is a special form of light.

This type of light allows to reduce pain significantly, to accelerate wound healing and to reduce inflammation.

Chronic wounds improve significantly through soft laser treatment or heal completely.

Neural Therapy

Neural therapy is a holistic regeneration therapy that treats interference zones on the body. These can be long-time scars or operation scars, that cause pain.

These scars are injected with a local anesthetic.

Blood Pressure: Examination and Stabilization, 24-Hour Blood Pressure Measurement

Raised blood pressure is widespread – often, without any symptoms.
The 24-hour blood pressure measurement allows to gain insight into fluctuations in blood pressure and blood values over time.

When patients are nervous during their blood pressure measurement, this might lead to increased blood pressure values. In contrast, 24-hour blood pressure measurements allow more detailed insight and make sure that the actual value can be figured out.

Blood examination

Blood tests are, aside from anamnesis and physical examination, one of the main accurate diagnostic tools available. Blood tests provide important information in terms of the root of acute infections (viral or bacterial). Furthermore, blood counts are important to control and optimize medical treatments (e.g. hypertension, metabolic disorders).

In acute cases we are able to determine the “complete” blood count and the CRP, such as urine examinations, directly in our premises at Medizin am Küniglberg.

For some examinations (e.g. thyroid valued, diabetes etc.) medication must be suspended beforehand.

Routine Blood Sampling Place Three Times A Week.

Monday 8 am - 10 am
Wednesday 7 am - 10 am
Friday 8 am - 10 am

Attention! Please show up with an empty stomach (sober) for blood tests concerning glucose and cholesterol values!

Vaccination Advice*

We are happy to give you advice and to carry out most of the vaccinations in our group practice. We store most of the vaccines, so you can get vaccinated straight away and don’t have to go to the pharmacy beforehand.

Die The protective vaccination is a preventive measure against infectious diseases.

Inoculation Advice for Foreign Travel

  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B

Mother-and-Child Pass Examination

Internal Examination

The mother-and-child pass examination serves the health care of mother and child; all the relevant medical data are collected. You receive the pass at your gynecologist, district office, health insurance clinic, obstetric outpatient department or pregnancy information center. Contract doctors offer mother-and-child pass examinations at no charge, these examinations are required to obtain childcare allowance.

17th to 20th week of pregnancy

Between the 17th and 20th week of pregnancy an examination at your general practitioner should be completed. In this medical check-up we determine the general state of health of the pregnant woman.

Nose and throat, teeth, cardiovascular function, lung, skin and limbs are examined. Also, we measure your blood pressure and record the overall findings in your mother-and-child pass.

Wound Treatment

Chronical wounds can have various causes. In case a wound does not heal, illnesses of the arteries and veins, diabetes mellitus or other reasons, e.g. infections, tumors or rare skin diseases might be the reason.

The most frequent chronical wounds are leg sores (Venous ulcer), pressure sores (decubitus), and diabetic foot lesions (Diabetic foot).

Operative Preparation (together with surgical monitoring)

As a special service for our patients, OA Dr. Johannes Stopfer, medical specialist in surgery, is ready to answer your questions when it comes to your operative preparation.

Sports Medicine*

Sports medicine deals with the medical questions that concern movement, sport, the effects of bodily activity, but also the effects of inactivity on the organism.

We are interested in training, training structure, prevention of injury and the treatment of sport-related traumas.

In our group practice “Medizin am Küniglberg”, Dr. Roland Brandner treats and analyses sport and competition-related injuries. To give an example, it might be the case that you, an experienced runner, were training intensively the last couple of weeks. Recently you realized severe back-pain. The medical examination shows, that you suffer from a shortening of the muscle iliopsoas. A specific and individual therapy allows to reduce the pain and to prevent the pain in the future.

Long-term care for the chronically sick
Acupuncture and TCM

Acupuncture is a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). As a regulation therapy, acupuncture does not suppress illness symptoms. On a higher, biophysical level, the body receives therapeutic information that helps to correct and heal defective regulations.

“Repairing processes” are initiated through acupuncture.
Your general practitioner makes a diagnosis based on the principles of acupuncture and develops a therapy plan.

If you are in need of a home visit on the same day, please inform us before 8.30 a.m. via phone, or call the medical center (“Ärztezentrale”; you can find the phone number in the red info-box on the right side).

Dr. Franziska Zies

I was born on 3rd December 1984 in Dresden. I moved to Vienna in 2006 to start my medical study. During my time as a medical student I was also highly interested in health- and life-care based on the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and have been awarded the diploma in acupuncture and Chinese phytotherapy by the Austrian general medical council. After finishing studies and earning my medical degree I started to train as a general practitioner at the university-hospital Tulln. There I could gain plenty of valuable experience. To become acquainted with the working environment of a general practitioner I decided to spend the last months of my education in the training practice of Dr. Huber and Dr. Brandner. With end of 2015 I eventually finished my training and have been working as a general practitioner ever since. I appreciate the warm welcome to the practice team “Küniglberg” and I’m looking forward to continued good cooperation.

Dr. Petra Kaden

After studying medicine at the University of Hamburg I started my apprenticeship in paediatrics and already worked in a practise for paediatrics. I moved to Vienna in 2001 and stopped working for sometime because I wanted to look after my three children. I have always wanted to work in a practise with many different patients and their families and due to that I decided to do my internship in the Hospital of Hietzing in Vienna. I am looking forward to working in the practise Dr. Huber/Dr. Brandner and I hope that I will be able to gain a lot of new experiences in the field of general medicine.

Dr. Alexander Niederecker
